Product informatie
FetHead Filter is a high quality, phantom powered in-line preamp. It has the addition of a built-in high passfilter at 220 Hz cutoff (other frequencies are available on request), this reduces the excessive lowfrequency/proximity effects that some microphones exhibit, such as long motor ribbon mics. The filterelements are not directly in the signal path but are applied to the components which set the gain of theFetHead Filter's amplifier. This ensures frequency dependence and that the sonic characteristics of theFetHead Filter are preserved.OperationYour Fethead Filter will latch straight onto any XLR equipped microphone, or anywhere else in the signalpath between microphone and preamp/mixer.Fethead Filter uses phantom power to power its circuitry, but doesn’t pass phantom power to themicrophone, so rest assured your ribbon mics are safe.Recommended applicationOur FetHead Filter is recommended for improving the signal to noise ratio and performance in the followingsituations:• Recording direct into a DAW interface• Noisy or low gain preamps• Mixers/preamps that negatively impact the sound at higher gain setting• Long motor ribbon microphones• Microphones which exhibit an excessive proximity effect• Miking all types of softer sound sourcesCircuit topologyOur FetHead Filter utilizes a low noise FET amplifier circuit, which reveals every detail with pinpointaccuracy and offers high-end sound quality.Features• Low noise Class A FET amplifier• 29dB amplification (@3000 Ω load)• Balanced XLR input/output• 6dB/octave high pass filter• Corner frequency at 220 Hz (custom frequencies on request)• Z-in 22 kΩ• Circuit is powered with 48V phantom power
