The Si3N4 ceramic balls significantly reduce wear and extend bearing life by eliminating steel-on-steel contact. Included are two ultra-thin stainless steel shims for added protection against dirt and water. Ideal as a direct replacement for Shimano external cup bottom brackets, this bearing belongs to the Enduro line, available in high-carbon chromium steel, 440C stainless steel, ceramic-hybrid, and D-15 with ceramic or stainless balls.
